The Ealing Mencap art group have been working on butterflies in preparation for the 2013 opening of the butterfly house. Some of these designs will be used on merchandise which will be sold at a stall on site.

2013!

Happy New Year! 2013 already looks like it will be a busy one! We have more signage commissions, more work with youth groups and running the butterfly house with Ealing Mencap to look forward to and we plan on becoming a formally registered charity.

 We had our trustees meeting on the 7th October. We said goodbye to Sarah, who has volunteered since the Art collective was set up, and said hello to Dee who has started volunteering. Judith and Vince were nominated as our new co-secretaries.

Wildlife garden banners

Our most recent commission is complete! 5 new banners will be on display in the Brent Lodge Park wildlife garden featuring artwork from all of the BLP artists. Here are 3 of the designs - Bats, Beasts and Birds!

Things have been a bit quiet over the Summer with artists going on holidays and lots of other distractions including the Olympics, but we have still managed to get some banners designed and ready for the animal centre's new wild flower garden.

Hanwell carnival 2012

We had a very successful carnival this year and it didn't rain! The collective sold quite a few cards and some original pieces too including Mary's much sought after cityscape and Keith's budgie. John, Vince, Keith and Sukhi were expert sales-people during the event and along with Matt, Sarah and Jude the stall was fully staffed all day. It was exhausting but well worth it.
